You have the classic "Type A" personality.

You are very hyper. You never slow down, even when it's killing you.

You are the total package - suave, sexy, smart, and strong.

You have the whole world under your spell, and you can influence almost everyone you know.

You don't always resist your urges to crush the weak. Just remember, they don't have as much going for them as you do.

You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life.

You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home.

You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.

You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

The Color Red

No, it's not about the color of the day, but about the color that teachers use during midterms and finals. I was no different from the others, until this mid-semester.

Why red? Probably because it is the most striking color on paper? Or probably because students don't use it as writing color? It's been the norm, but I learned (I forgot how) that red has psychological effects on students. Hence, I decided to experiment on using another color in checking their midterms.

How about a glittered purple pen? =P Hehehe! It was given to me by a colleague as gift last Christmas. Surprisingly, I found it fun to check the exam this time! However, I realized halfway that one pen was not sufficient to finish two sections of my undergrad class! Haha, good thing I found a kid's pen of the same color! But it was no longer glittered! =P

When I asked my students what they think about the color, they said that it makes them feel better.. probably because it doesn't have a "shouting" effect as red does.

Hm, this is a good excuse to collect colored pens again, just like what I used to do during college days.. Hehehe...

Year-Beginner

As the end of the year 2007 was approaching, I attempted several times to make a year-ender entry, but I had no courage to post them (I've written three drafts!) Hence, they remained forever drafts.

And now that the Year of the Rat has started, I would like to take this opportunity to express my hopes for the coming year, despite not-so-nice predictions for those who were born on the year of the horse. Though I am in a much better state now as compared to the same period (or even to the rest) of last year, I am hoping for things to get even better. =)

First, I am hoping for less depression attacks. Although I think I've overcome the peak of my depression, I still get attacks once in a while. Second, I am hoping for other people to understand that I am a person too. They don't have to understand everything, but at least consider that I am a person with feelings too. Third is of course, better health. I want less, if not zero, trips to the doctor. Fourth is for the release of my appointment at work (para magkasweldo na ko =P).

Of course, there are also things to be thankful for in the year that passed. First, my family and close friends - for all the love and support during the hardest time in my life. Second, my friends at work - for giving me another chance; And last but not the least, Lord of course, for helping me get back on track. =)

Kung Hei Fat Choi, everyone! ^_^

Synergy, Rediscovered

Switching between keyboards and mice when working on more than one machine is a bit inconvenient at times. When the machines are in a local area network, using only one set of input devices make work easier and less confusing! And synergy makes it possible! I used version 1.0 when the CS department was still in the old building, but version 2.0 is better since it uses machine names now rather than IP addresses. It works on Mac, Windows and Linux. =) Haven't tested the new version in Linux though, but I had no problem with version 1.0 in the three platforms.. so I guess it works flawlessly in Linux as well. =)
